Thousands of pounds donated to St John Guernsey
St John Ambulance Guernsey has received a £5,000 donation for its coronavirus appeal.
The Masonic Charity Fund donated the money to help the organisation care for islanders, including those elderly and vulnerable.
St John launched the appeal after seeing an increase in demand for its services but has had a reduction in income during the pandemic.
Throughout lockdown the charity has set up a ‘Caring Callers’ scheme to reduce loneliness, deliver groceries and medicines for those isolating and even worked alongside the Emergency Ambulance Service to help with decontamination.
