Plans to redevelop Leale's Yard in Guernsey have taken another step forward after a planning framework was given the green light.

The regeneration of the St Sampson site has been stalled several times. Numerous planning applications for homes and parking have failed or lapsed, including the 2016 plans to build hundreds of new homes.

A recent consultation about the future of the brownfield site has now concluded and a framework for developing it has been approved.

The framework will now form part of the Supplementary Planning Guidance which will determine which planning applications are considered in the future.

It will also give guidance on how policies in the Island Development Plan will be applied to the site.
