The planning application for a controversial residential and hotel development in St Helier has been approved.

The £70 million project on Bath Street includes a Premier Inn and 149 residential units - five more than in the original planning application.

It will be built on the site of two Regency villas, which heritage campaigners fought to save - however the project was given the green light by the government's planning committee in October 2019.

Le Masurier, which is behind the development, says it will create jobs for the area as well as bringing in more than £1.6 million from visitors.
