From the archives: 'The History of the Muratti' - '50s

With the 104th Muratti Vase delayed indefinitely by the coronavirus outbreak, we have been digging through the archives to bring you a special programme on the history of Channel Islands football's most famous cup.

Put together by Kevin Banner and Bill Brown in the early 1990s, it features interview clips with players who starred in the 1929 edition through to those making local headlines closer to the time of broadcast.

In the third of six parts, we hear tales of how the competition used to be covered by the press, an unlikely Guernsey victory, and Alderney's return to the Vase after the war.
