From the archives: 'The History of the Muratti' - the early days

With the 104th Muratti Vase delayed indefinitely by the coronavirus outbreak, we have been digging through the archives to bring you a special programme on the history of Channel Islands football's most famous cup.

Put together by Kevin Banner and Bill Brown in the early 1990s, it features interview clips with players who starred in the 1929 edition through to those making local headlines closer to the time of broadcast.

In the first of six parts, we hear about the formation of the competition, Alderney's one and only victory, and a speedy striker who helped Guernsey to a huge win in Jersey.
