From the archives: 'The History of the Muratti' - '30s and '40s

With the 104th Muratti Vase delayed indefinitely by the coronavirus outbreak, we have been digging through the archives to bring you a special programme on the history of Channel Islands football's most famous cup.

Put together by Kevin Banner and Bill Brown in the early 1990s, it features interview clips with players who starred in the 1929 edition through to those making local headlines closer to the time of broadcast.

In the second of six parts, focus moves to the '30s and '40s, which saw some 'blood and thunder' contests, two special games played a long way from home, and the emergence of one of Jersey's greatest ever goalscorers.
