Sark celebrates 75th anniversary of Liberation

Sark island was liberated from Nazi occupation a day after Jersey and Guernsey on 10 May 1945.

Islanders in Sark are marking 75 years of freedom today (10 May).

The island was liberated from Nazi occupation a day after Jersey and Guernsey on 10 May 1945.

Like other islands, Sark has had to cancel its original plans due to the coronavirus pandemic.

So, people are being encouraged to celebrate from home instead.
