Guernsey and Jersey flags to fly in London on Liberation Day
Guernsey and Jersey flags will be flown over the Ministry of Justice in London to mark Liberation day.
The Channel Islands were liberated 75 years ago after five years of Nazi occupation.
On 9 May, the day British Forces arrived in Jersey and Guernsey to free the islands.
Both flags will be flown above 102 Petty France, the headquarters of the Ministry of Justice.
The Ministry of Justice is in charge of the UK’s constitutional relationship with the Channel Islands.
Many of the commemoration events planned by Jersey and Guernsey are now unable to take place due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Now activities will be taking place across both islands virtually.
Sark will also be holding Stay at Home parties, which will take place on their Liberation Day - 10 May.
