In May 1945, the Channel Islands were were freed from German rule. The anniversary will celebrate the end of the wartime Occupation of Jersey, Guernsey and Sark - and the sacrifices of those who served and gave their lives to secure the islands' freedom.
A two minute silence will be held across the British Isles at 11am on 8 May to remember those who gave their lives fighting in the Second World War, including those from the Channel Islands.

Jersey's Bailiff, Mr Timothy Le Cocq is urging people to fly the Jersey and Union flags from their homes and businesses from today (5 May) until sunset on 10 May.
Guernsey's Bailiff, Sir Richard Collas has asked islanders to take part in flying the Union flag on VE Day (8 May) to mark the end of the Second World War in Europe.
He is also inviting people to fly the Guernsey flag on the 9 and 10 May to mark Liberation Day.
