Queues at Guernsey waste sites
Long queues of cars have been seen in Guernsey as their garden waste site reopened today.
Over 700 cars came to Chouet, and almost 200 visited the Longue Hougue to drop off their green waste.
The sites had been closed a month ago in an effort to curb the spread of coronavirus.
People in Guernsey can now go to the Chouet Green Waste site, as well as a new temporary drop off point at Longue Hougue, so long as they follow strict social distancing rules.
Household recycling will reopen later in the week for items that cannot be collected by kerbside recycling.
