Operations and outpatient appointments cancelled at Jersey's hospital
Operations and outpatient appointments at Jersey General Hospital over the next four weeks have been cancelled with immediate effect.
The government describes the news as 'regrettable,' but say it will help promote social distancing and limit the spread of coronavirus.
It will also allow Health and Community Services to prepare for the impact the virus may have on hospital beds in the future.
Urgent appointments and operations will continue and clinical teams will deem which of those already scheduled fall into that category.
All patients who have appointments booked for the week commencing 23 March 2020 will be contacted by telephone. Where it is feasible, telephone consultations will be carried out.
The Hospital Pharmacy remains open.
