Passengers who booked Blue Islands flights through Flybe must rebook

Passengers who have booked Blue Islands flights through Flybe must rebook their travel.

Funds from all future bookings with Blue Islands, which were made through Flybe's booking system, are currently being held by Flybe's merchant card acquirers as part of measures to safeguard them if the company did collapse.

However, because the original booking is no longer valid, it means passengers must re-book through Blue Islands.

The company has now restored its website, allowing customers to book flights with the airline online. It says as a temporary measure each route will have a flat fare price and will include 23kg hold baggage while it introduces new pricing options.

Customers seeking information on refunds from Flybe flights should get in touch with the Civil Aviation Authority or make contact with the credit card company which was used to pay for the flight.

Pre-booked travel on Blue Islands-operated services will go ahead as normal over the weekend so long as passengers present their booking reference. The company will honour these flights without the need for extra payment.

Passengers will soon be able to book Blue Islands flights again via their website and a new call centre.

An update on bookings made for travel from Monday 9 March is expected shortly.
