WATCH: Asian Hornet hunters deal with nest on Jersey cliff face
Asian Hornet hunters have treated a nest on the side of a cliff in Jersey.
The team had to use a rib to reach the nest which was on cliff face in Bouley Bay. They then used a lance to feed pesticides into the nest and kill the hornets inside.
Normally the nest would be removed, however the team decided to leave it where it is, as it will be brought down by the weather over the coming months.
Joe Mourant of Le Mourier Marine sent us this footage.
The hornets are an invasive species and pose a major threat to the island's pollinating insects. At the height of summer, a single hornet can eat up to 50 bees in a day.
Work has been ongoing to stop the spread of the species since they were first sighted in Jersey in 2016.
Since, several nests across the islands have been captured and dissected to help experts understand more about the species.
