Moonlight Parade will go ahead, but without fireworks
Strong winds this evening have forced organisers of the Battle of Flowers Moonlight Parade to cancel the Aerosparks Display and fireworks.
The Moonlight Parade itself will go ahead on time and will include all the floats.
The wind is expected to get up to a force 6 or force 7, touching on force 8 at times, with 50 mile per hour gusts.
Battle of Flowers organisers met with what is known as Silver Command this afternoon which included representatives of the emergency services and the States of Jersey to decide if the parade could go ahead.
Organisers say spectators may notice some changes due to the weather conditions, with dancers not stood on top of some floats, and other sat down rather than standing.
Also the roof on the covered stand will be removed due to the strong winds.
Organisers of the Moonlight Parade along with representatives from the emergency services will monitor the weather conditions throughout the evening to make sure the parade remains safe.
