Around 12% of shops in Guernsey's town centre are empty, according to the latest Main Centre Survey.

The figure is higher than the UK, where the average for the second half of 2017 was 11%.

It also shows considerably more vacancies than Jersey, where only 2% of shops were empty as of July 2018.

It has led to fresh calls for more to be done to save Guernsey's High Street.
