Multi-millionaire David Noakes has been jailed for 12 months for the manufacture and sale of a "wonder drug" that contained GcMAF.

The former Guernsey resident was sentenced to an additional three months for money laundering at Southwark Crown Court.

Noakes told the court his Guernsey-based firm Immuno Biotech sold the human blood product through its website to an estimated 10,000 people.

He promoted the products as a cure for a number of illnesses and conditions including cancer, multiple sclerosis, HIV and autism.

But products containing GcMAF are thought to cause a significant health risk.

The judge also described Noakes as having an "obsessional nature", saying that he was "obsessed with the idea that GcMAF was a treatment for a vast range of illnesses which was being kept secret from the public".

Over a period of two and a half years, Noakes is thought to have manufactured around 120,000 doses of the product.
