Jersey politician Richard Rondel has died
Jersey Deputy Richard Rondel has died.
He passed away on the night of 14 November at the age of 54, under the care of Jersey Hospice.
He was diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer in May 2015.
Deputy Rondel was first elected as Deputy for St Helier District No. 3 and 4 in 2011.
He was re-elected for the position in 2014 and again this year, receiving the highest number of votes of all the candidates.
The Parish flag at the St Helier Town Hall is flying at half mast today and fellow States members have paid tribute to Deputy Rondel online...
Earlier this year, his three sons held a sponsored walk which raised over £20,000 for The Friends of Jersey Oncology and Cancer Research UK.
