Zaferes and Luis take Super League Triathlon Jersey crowns

The overall winners of Super League Triathlon Jersey 2018 were crowned on Sunday after the punishing 'enduro' format pushed the elite athletes to their limits.

America's Katie Zaferes, second on day one, retained the title she won last year after 'triple mix' winner Cassandre Beaugrand could only finish third behind Kirsten Kasper.

Olympic medallist Jonathan Brownlee and Georgia Taylor-Brown were the top-ranked Brits across the weekend finishing in fifth and fourth respectively.

Jersey's Ollie Turner secured his 'golden ticket' to race in the rest of the Super League series after finishing in the top five out of nine who were hoping to qualify.

The 'enduro' saw the athletes complete three rotations of the disciplines back-to-back with two being cut from the field after every leg.
