Designers to visit Jersey to draft new skate park
Designers are visiting Jersey this week to draft early stage ideas for a new skatepark on the island.
A group from Denmark will look at the various locations that have been put forward.
Jersey Sport and the States have confirmed that the Danish company Glifberg-Lykke will create the initial plans.
The designers are also looking to hear from local skateboarders, BMXers and scooter riders to see what they want from a new park.
Glifberg-Lykke have worked on a series of projects in countries across Europe and the Chairman of the Jersey Skatepark Association has said he's delighted that they will be involved.
The Assistant Minister for Economic Development, Tourism, Sport and Culture, Senator Steve Pallett has said the appointment of the designers is a key moment in providing a modern and much-needed new skatepark.
A consultant was appointed in February to find a viable site but a new location has not yet been agreed upon.
