Sark Chamber of Commerce complains of ferry cancellations

The Sark Chamber of Commerce has complained about the cancellations of the Manches Iles ferry.

The Granville ferry is out of action and journeys from France via Jersey are no longer running.

Paul Armogie from the Stocks Hotel says he suffered a £3,000 loss in the first weekend of ferry issues, while Sark Tourism has also noted the impact cancellations have had.

The Chamber of Commerce is calling on the government to change passenger routes so there are direct sailings between Sark and France.

Another company ferry, The Victor Hugo, broke down earlier this month during the Sark Summer Festival weekend but is now back in service.
