The States of Jersey elect new Council of Ministers
The States of Jersey has elected its new Council of Ministers today.
Yesterday Chief Minister designate Senator John Le Fondre named his preferred choices.
Jersey's former Chief Minister Senator Ian Gorst will take up the role for External Relations.
Deputy Susie Pinel becomes Treasury and Resources Minister.
While Senator Tracey Vallois has become the Minister for Education.
Senator Le Fondre did not get his choice for Minister for Health and Social Services.
He had wanted Senator Sarah Ferguson but instead States members have chosen Deputy Richard Renouf.
Jersey's Minister for Social Security is Deputy Judy Martin who was elected unopposed.
Deputy Kevin Lewis is the Minister for Infrastructure, winning the role over Senator Steve Pallett.
Senator Lyndon Farnham remains the Minister for Economic Development.
Deputy John Young is the Minister for Planning and Environment following a close vote with the former Planning Minister Deputy Steve Luce.
Senator Sam Mezec is Housing Minister, who was elected unopposed.
Constable Len Norman is Home Affairs Minister, who was elected unopposed.
