Views sought on renewable energy in Alderney
People in Alderney are being asked for their opinion on how they think the island should generate its power going forward.
Currently diesel is the main source, but with the power station being updated, Alderney Electricity is now looking to a future with renewable energy.
The company intends to submit plans for a solar farm on the slopes at Fort Grosnez.
It wants to look at other options including wind and tidal energy.
Last year islanders made it clear what they were against plans for a link to pump tidal energy across the Channel between Britain and France.
A consultation is set to be launched in the coming weeks to ask islanders their thoughts before any decisions are made.
