Same-sex marriage to be debated by States of Jersey
Same-sex couples in Jersey hope to find out today when they can marry in the island.
The States of Jersey will debate changes to the marriage legislation today, which affect 31 island laws overall.
The propositions include same-sex marriage and other changes, including allowing couples to be married in open air locations and giving people more choice in the type of ceremony they want.
Currently it is hoped the laws will be in place by spring 2018. However, there is speculation the plans could face further delays after politicians criticised “errors and oversights” in the Chief Minister's proposals last month.
