Senior Guernsey politician speaks out on death of Baby A
Guernsey's most senior politician, Gavin St Pier, has suggested specialist medical consultants involved in the care of a newborn baby who died at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital in 2014, should be held to account.
It follows last week's news of two midwives who were struck off following a tribunal. They were both found guilty of serious misconduct.
The baby's family issued a statement yesterday, in which they said the Medical Specialist Group were also responsible for a "litany of harrowing failures" in his care.
The group has declined to comment ahead of an inquest into the baby's death.
