Nine sightings of Portuguese Man O'War in Guernsey
Nine sightings of Portuguese Man O'War have been recorded in Guernsey in the last two weeks.
It is believed the influx is down to strong south-westerly winds, which are blowing the species to Western Europe.
Recent warm temperatures are also considered a factor in their arrival to the islands.
Yesterday, a Portuguese Man O' War was found and removed from St Ouen's bay in Jersey.
Islanders are being warned of their painful sting, which on rare occasions can be fatal.
