Deputy Andrew Lewis 'emphatically denies' allegations he lied
In a personal statement in the States Chamber today, Deputy Andrew Lewis said he "emphatically denies" allegations he lied both to the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry and to the States Assembly.
The allegations against Deputy Lewis were made in the IJCI report, which was published in July.
Deputy Lewis said he 'deeply regrets' not using more precise language and offered his sincere apologies to all States members who may have felt misled.
Deputy Andrew Lewis will face a Vote of Censure in the States Chamber later this afternoon, after the Privileges and Procedures Committee found him in breach of the States Members Code of Conduct.
Last month, two deputies resigned from the Public Accounts Committee, chaired by Deputy Lewis, saying they have "no confidence" in him.
