'No confidence' in Deputy Andrew Lewis prompts members' resignations
Two Jersey politicians have resigned from a States committee because they 'no longer have confidence' in the Chairman, Deputy Andrew Lewis.
Constable Simon Crowcroft and Deputy Judy Martin have given notice of their resignation from the Public Accounts Committee to the Bailiff.
It will take effect from the first States sitting of next month.
It comes after the Independent Care Inquiry found Deputy Andrew Lewis had lied to the panel investigating historical child abuse in the island.
The probe also found he had lied to the States Assembly - although Deputy Lewis denies any wrongdoing.
The Privileges and Procedures Committee has lodged a proposition seeking a Vote of Censure in Deputy Lewis after it decided he had breached the Code of Conduct for States Members.
