States members need to 'pull together' following Care Inquiry findings

A Jersey politician has told ITV News she wants States members to "pull together" following the findings of the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry.

Deputy Jacqueline Hilton says that despite having a "huge task" ahead of them she hopes the government can "deliver on the recommendations" that were suggested in the report.

The three year probe found island authorities failed children in care, with systemic abuse taking place in States managed care homes over several decades.

The Chief Minister, Senator Ian Gorst, arranged today's special States sitting to discuss the report in depth.
