Survivor speaks of 'mixed emotions' following Care Inquiry report
A survivor of child abuse has told ITV News of the 'mixed emotions' she is experiencing, following the publication of the Jersey Care Inquiry report, yesterday.
Jean Neil was one of more than 200 people who gave evidence to the investigation into historic child abuse in Jersey's care system.
Many had to recount horrific memories of physical, sexual and emotional abuse and give detailed accounts of their ordeals.
She says the fact the Inquiry acknowledged wrongdoing and highlighted a number of failings by authorities makes her 'feel a lot better.'
However, she also says she is experiencing 'mixed emotions' having had to 'relive the abuse all over again.'
