Andy Hibbs' behaviour 'did not always meet RNLI expectations'
A review into the sacking of Jersey Coxswain Andy Hibbs found his behaviour "has not always been in keeping with the RNLI’s expectations".
A statement from the charity says Mr Hibbs "recognises" this and he has now committed to adhering to the charity’s code of conduct.
The volunteer was asked to step down in April, for breaking the code of conduct, but appealed the decision.
Today Mr Hibbs was told can return to his role and was issued a full apology.
The RNLI say their actions on a previous occasion "did not meet the high standards of support and fairness that we expect", which "contributed to the subsequent breakdown in relationships".
They added "Andy’s behaviour could be attributed to previous actions by the RNLI".
The sacking sparked the entire lifeboat crew to resign, as well as public protests to be held.
