'Exciting future' for Roman dig in Alderney
More discoveries have been made at an archaeological dig in Alderney, after what is believed to a Roman skull was found by workers.
A team have found more cremated remains, jewellery and a number of burials, along with what could be a substantial Roman building.
Workers came across a skull while digging along Rue des Mielles, and since then a Roman burial site was uncovered with skeletons and graves.
Dr Jason Monaghan, director of Guernsey museums, says the finds promise an exciting future for the area.
