Channel Islands Pride celebrations announced for September

Channel Islands Pride celebrations will be happening in Jersey on 9 September.

This year there is a special wedding theme, using the hashtag #IDo, to tie in with the islands legalising same-sex marriage.

Those going along can dig out their hats and go dressed for "the biggest wedding party ever".

The annual parade will begin at 2:30pm from West's Centre, heading to the Pride Village in Weighbridge Square.

There will be more entertainment on the Pride stage, but acts are yet to be announced.

Organisers, Liberate, have announced a new Chair who will be leading the charity in promoting equality in the Channel Islands.

Rachel French will replace founding Chair, Christian May, who has taken on the role for two and a half years.

She has previously been in charge of fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support in Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands, Durrell and Race Nation.
