Work on Jersey Airport's arrivals building will start 'later this year'

The arrivals building was built in 1937

Work on re-building Jersey Airport's Arrivals building will start, "later this year", according to the Port's of Jersey CEO.

Doug Bannister says change needs to happen to meet safety standards.

It's part of a £65m master plan, which was announced last year for the future of the island's airport.

The changes will see a new arrivals building built and the old one removed.

Over the last week, Mr Bannister has been meeting with airport staff to plan how to structure the building work.

It will be spread out to minimise disruption to passengers.
