£65m masterplan to overhaul Jersey Aiport
Ports of Jersey has published its £65m master plan for the future of the island's airport.
The proposals will see a new arrivals building built and the old one removed.
Part of the old building dates back to 1937 and airport authorities say it has to be demolished for safety reasons.
Some are saying the old building is a 'remarkable chapter' in the island's history and shouldn't be knocked down.
The first part of the project, which will take between 5 and 10 years to complete, will commence at the end of this year.
That will include creating a temporary arrivals building so the old one can be knocked down.
Roads and parking will also be changed in the initial work.
The project also includes relocating the airport fire station and improving the passenger pier.
