Politicians in are committed to moving towards an all-ability system of secondary education in Guernsey and Alderney.
Parents and carers in the Bailliwick are being reassured that the government will honour the results of the education debate.
All members of the Committee for Education will "accept the States decision", regardless of their personal views.
This follows last week's momentous decision to support an an all-ability secondary education.
Deputies Paul Le Pelley, David de Lisle and Andrea Dudley-Owen voted to keep selection on the island.
Deputies Carl Meerveld and Marc Leadbeater opted to scrap the 11+.
But the Committee for Education, Sport & Culture has issued a joint statement outlining their commitment to the vote.
Changes to the current system will not be implemented until September 2019 at the earliest.
That means the last cohort to sit the 11+ tests will be those children currently in Year 5.
