Anthony McMahon heads to America for second operation
Guernsey boy Anthony McMahon is heading to America for a second operation on his left leg.
Islanders raised thousands to fund a procedure this summer to lengthen his left leg with this second surgery a follow up to that procedure.
Anthony was born with abnormal hip joints and short legs and his family say he needed the operation to lengthen his left leg or it may have required amputation.
In 2008 Guernsey's health service paid for the operation which corrected his right leg but they refused to pay for the surgery on his left leg.
His family will fly to the Florida on Sunday and if all goes well they should be back in the island in time for Christmas.
