Man accused of murdering Sarah Groves could be moved to mental health clinic
The man accused of murdering Guernseywoman Sarah Groves could soon be transferred to a mental health clinic in Delhi for treatment.
After yet another court hearing today, an official ruling that Richard De Wit is unfit to stand trial is now expected on Tuesday.
Dutch officials are making attempts to see Dutchman De Wit moved back to the Netherlands but the Groves family say they'll oppose that move.
The Dutch government commissioned a psychiatric report into De Wit's mental health, which found him unfit for trial.
It said he suffers from a 'long-term and chronic psychotic disorder within the schizophrenia spectrum' and says he is convinced he is being poisoned.
The court hearing the trial in India has requested an independent psychiatric report.
24-year-old Sarah Groves was found dead on a houseboat in Kashmir in 2013.
