Richard De Wit Psychiatric report presented to court

ITV News has exclusively received a copy of the psychiatric report into Richard De Wit's mental health that was presented to the court today.

It was written by two Dutch experts who have visited De Wit in jail in the last few days.

It states that De Wit is "convinced he is being poisoned", which subsequently led to the dismissal of at least one of his lawyers.

He also believes in a "world wide conspiracy", and claims two other previous lawyers were part of this.

The report concludes by stating that De Wit suffers from, "long-term and chronic psychotic disorder within the schizophrenia spectrum."

The experts add that, "the symptoms of this mental disorder prevent De Wit, at this moment (and also for a longer period of time) to be able to weigh his interests or cooperate with his lawyer to defend his interests."

"It is extremely likely that De wit hardly understands the trial process, as he believes the trial and in fact the whole prosecution is part of the conspiracy and has stated that the trial procedures are a show."
