Parts of the Midlands are badly affected by flooding, with the Environment Agency keeping flood warnings and alerts in place across the region.

Roads closed across Midlands as flood waters still high
A number of roads across the Midlands remain closed due to flooding today.
Drivers are warned to take extra care and not to drive through large patches of water, which can be deeper than they appear.
The following roads are affected:
- A449 at the Old Gore crossroads with the B4224 in Herefordshire
- A466 at Welsh Newton, Herefordshire
- B4347 near Dark Lane in Ewyas Harold, Herefordshire
- B4352 around Pentre Lane in Bredwardine, Herefordshire
- C1120 closed between Marden and Moreton on Lugg, Herefordshire
- C1122 closed between Marden and the A49 in Herefordshire
- Jay's Lane closed at Leintwardine, Herefordshire
- Hanley Road closed from the A4104 High Street in Upton-upon-Severn, Worcestershire
- New Street closed from the A4104 High Street / Old Street in Upton-upon-Severn, Worcestershire
- Slash Lane closed both ways between Sileby Road and Mountsorrel Lane in Sileby, Leicestershire
- Henwood Lane blocked between Berry Hall Lane and Barston Lane, Solihull

More pictures show extent of flooding in Worcester
Photos taken today in Worcester show the extent of flood damage in the city after the River Severn burst its banks after several days of heavy rain.
As the clouds cleared, the blue skies made for picturesque views - but with footpaths, roads and fields still under water, the full cost of the damage has yet to be counted.

Eleven flood warnings and 14 alerts are still in force across the Midlands, as flood waters remain high for many people in the region.
The warnings have all been issued for areas based along the River Severn, which flows through Gloucestershire, Shropshire, and Worcestershire.

Flood waters still high in many parts of the Midlands
Flood waters are still high in many parts of the Midlands - and more could be on the way, with 11 flood warnings and 14 alerts still in force for the region.
Worcester has been badly hit, with large swathes of the city submerged after the River Severn burst its banks.
Pictures taken in the city today show the entrance to the Diglis Hotel in Severn Street completely under water, while the Birmingham and Worcester Canal can no longer be told apart from the surrounding footpaths.
