University student dead after city centre attack

Police have started a murder investigation after a university student who was assaulted in Nottingham city centre, died.

Arjun Singh, who was 20, was attacked on Long Row just before 4am yesterday (18th January). He was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre, but sadly died today (19th January).

Arjun was studying at Nottingham Trent University.

Nottinghamshire Police detectives say the enquiry is now being treated as a murder investigation.

They are keen to trace two men who fled the scene on foot after the assault.
