Dog who was tied to a lamp post and abandoned needs a new home

A young dog who was found abandoned and tied to a lamp post in freezing conditions in Birmingham last winter needs a new home.

Wilson, a black Labrador cross, is in the care of Birmingham Dogs Home where he has had help to overcome his fears and re-build his confidence.

It's unlikely we will ever know why Wilson was left abandoned, but the team looking after him say he is a "loving boy with bundles of energy".

The pup is one of 2,700 stray, mistreated and abandoned dogs that were rescued by Birmingham Dogs Home last year.

They say they are looking for an adult-only home for Wilson, ideally with people who have experience in looking after larger dogs such as Collies and Shepherds.
