The RSPCA is appealing to find the owner of a dying dog which was left at the side of a road in Wolverhampton with a maggot-infested wound.

The female dog was found in Brinsford Lane at 5.30am on 29 August by a member of the public.

It is believed the injured pet had been dumped in the area as she was unable to walk.

Simon Miles who found the dog said:

The dog was taken to St George’s Vets in Wolverhampton but because of her poor state of health, the vet made the decision to put the dog to sleep.

The RSPCA was alerted to the incident because it is believed the dog had been neglected.

As she was not microchipped the animal welfare charity is appealing for information that would help in tracing her owners.
