Seven-year-old girl hands out goody bags to homeless in Birmingham after raising £370
A seven-year-old girl from Birmingham has been handing out goody bags to homeless people on the streets of her city.
Skyla Edwards was so upset at seeing a homeless person in the street whilst out with her mother that she decided to help them.
She set up a fundraising page online and used the money to create 20 goody bags.
The goody bags included toothbrushes, toothpastes, hand sanitisers, lip balm, packs of tissues, socks, hand-warmers, gloves, sanitary towels, body spray, £5 food gift cards, mints, sweets and chocolate.
Some also included dog toys and a dog treat. Tesco donated winter hats for the goody bags.
On Skyla's JustGiving page she wrote "Seeing [homeless people] in dirty clothes and looking hungry always makes me feel sad and I don’t think it's fair. I pray for them all the time but this year I would like to go out and actually do something for them."
Skyla's mum Denise has said they plan to hand out goody bags every year from now on.
