Human bones found on the site of a former care home

Human bones have been found on the site of a former care home in Leicestershire.

Police were called to a site off Scalford Road, Melton Mowbray at around 3.30pm on Thursday (17 October).

The former Catherine Dalley House site currently is being developed, but work has been halted after the bones were discovered.

A white tent which is surrounded by diggers was erected in the middle of the site by officers as they carried out their investigation.

Police have said they are unable to comment on if the bones belong to one or more people as the inquiry was still in its 'early stages'.
