Pensioner left injured in road after hit-and-run
CCTV footage has been released after a pensioner was left lying injured in a road after a hit-and-run.
The 80-year-old man is seen crossing Alum Rock Road, Birmingham just after 1.15pm on Wednesday (October 2).
He is suddenly mown down by a vehicle, which then flees the scene.
The man, who was said to be a grandfather was left lying in the middle of the road injured, before being taken to hospital.
He was meeting a member of his family waiting on the opposite side of the road.
Fortunately his injuries are not serious but sustained cuts and bruises.
Police are now appealing to the driver who failed to stop to come forward.
