Man dies after being hit by lorry on M40

A pedestrian has died after being hit by a lorry in Warwickshire.

The collision happened on the southbound carriageway of the M40 in the early hours of this morning (12 August)

Paramedics were called to the scene following the collision, which took place near junction 12 at around 3.35am.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's next of kin has been informed and police are awaiting formal identification.

A spokesperson for the Warwickshire Police Serious Collision Unit said: "This was a tragic incident in which a man has sadly lost his life. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time."

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to come forward.
