Funeral takes place for homeless man Kane Walker

Mourners gathered at a crematorium in Perry Barr in Birmingham this morning, to say goodbye to Kane Walker, a homeless man who died in freezing temperatures near the Bullring Shopping Centre last month.

Among those in attendance were members of his family, people who lived with Kane on the streets and those who tried to help him in his darkest hours. A crowdfunding page was used to raise money for the service.

Charity teams from "Active Christians Ministry", who filmed Kane in his despair on the streets, were at the funeral service today, and told ITV News Central that Kane was a "happy-go-lucky" man, despite being homeless.
