20-year-old man in critical condition in hospital after being shot by police

A 20-year-old man thought to have been carrying a gun has been shot by police in Derbyshire.

It happened around half past twelve on Friday night in Heanor, on a quiet residential street.

Forensic teams packed Stainsby Avenue the next morning, as police revealed they had shot a man. He remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission released a statement saying,
