Road chaos on M40 following police incident

Traffic is held to a standstill this afternoon on the M40 in Warwickshire while police deal with an ongoing incident involving a man on a bridge.

The Northbound carriageway is shut at junction 15 for Warwick and junction 16 for Henley in Arden, following the police incident which was reported at around 15:15 this afternoon.

The Southbound carriageway is also shut at junction 3a for the M42 and junction 16. Traffic is also affected at nearby junctions and diversions are in place to manage the flow of traffic.

Drivers are being advised to find alternative routes.
