Frankfurt Christmas Market officially opens in Birmingham
The Birmingham German Christmas market opens today - and unlike other years it'll be open every day until December 29th except for Christmas Day.
The extended opening season is to celebrate 50 years since the signing of the Frankfurt/Birmingham Partnership Agreement.
The Frankfurt Christmas Market and the Christmas Craft Market consist of 140 stalls along a mile from Centenary Square, along New Street to the Bullring.
The Frankfurt Christmas Market in Victoria Square will be officially opened by the city's Lord Mayor, along with the Mayor of Frankfurt, at 5.30pm this evening.
The Christmas Craft Market, Ice Rink and Big Wheel will be opened two days later on 19 November.
The event has become the biggest authentic German market outside Austria and Germany and will be open from 17 November until 29 December, 10am to 9pm.
